The DoDTC Threat Detection Program

Trying to land a position in cybersecurity can be both thrilling and exhausting, especially in a market where employers are offering far fewer truly entry-level positions than ever before. Similarly challenging is the need for employers or commands to have personnel who not only meet certification requirements such as the DoD Directive 8140 but also have the hands-on skills required to be effective at their positions.

Traditional educational programs often fall short in preparing individuals for the real-world demands and the ability to pass certification exams, which often leaves them feeling ill-equipped and ill-prepared to perform even the most basic cybersecurity duties and services.

At DoD Training Center (DoDTC), we offer the light at the end of the tunnel. Not only assist commands and companies in preparing their personnel to pass exams, but also provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cyber ranges and cohort projects that assist non-profit organizations. This approach allows for a meaningful impact while honing cybersecurity skills.

Here's The DoDTC Threat Detection Program in 7 Steps:

1. Apply: Students for The DoDTC Threat Detection Program offered either online or in-person. If accepted into the program, the individual, company, or command will be notified and direction for payment provided.
2. Prepare: DoDTC assists commands and other organizations in preparing their personnel for a certification exam through either a 1 week bootcamp or a 6 week evening and Saturday track.
3. Practice: Students gain hands-on experience through projects and home labs.
4. Assess: Students develop and hone their cybersecurity skills in Cyber Ranges and are provided both group and individual assessments.
5. Provide Impact: By working on cohort projects that assist non-profit organizations, students make a meaningful impact while applying their skills in real-world scenarios.
6. Earn Certification: After completing the training program and gaining hands-on experience, students are prepared to take at least one certification exam and earn a DoD 8140 compliance recognized credential in the cybersecurity field.
7. Get Projects: Armed with certification, practical experience, and an entry-level security analyst skills, students then receive digital marketing training to help them identify, pitch services, and perform in-demand professional projects
